The Truth about Black Friday...

--for the weather to warm up or stop raining a bit. it is still fall not winter yet!

so have you all seen that movie 12 days a slave? i have not yet, but now i need too since many people have commented on how i sort of resemble one of the actresses. the woman on there by the name of Lupita Nyong'o. i am flattered to say the least, but i think she is prettier :) what do you all think? do we look similar? here we are side by side. love to hear what you all think!! btw, how is your monday? almost thanksgiving time!!! lots to be thankful for!!

wow! it is Sunday and that means Sunday Social. it is almost Thanksgiving too, so this Sunday let's talk about what we are thankful for. i have sooo many that i think i will keep it to 10 :)

Six word Saturday and Stealing Sunday!

"Saturday spent at the doctor's office"

yep that is right! so today is saturday and i went to see the doctor. the only thing nice about saturday appt. is that i do not have to take off work. i am not to sure how i feel about her as she was a bit forceful and not listening. then she started asking me questions i did not know the answer to or heck, no one knows the answers too such as why do you have this and this? ummm, you are the doctor, you need to tell me why i have this and this, that is why i came in to see you. she ran test and then got me scheduled for a new appt. to come back. i think i am going to switch doctors. not a fan.

Stealing Sunday Thanksgiving Edition Meme's!



1. What do you have for breakfast on Thanksgiving?--usually this and that b/c busy prepping the meal for dinner

2. Do you go to a Thanksgiving parade or watch one on TV?--the Macy's Day parade on TV (would like to go in person one day!) 

3. Do you serve appetizers, lunch, or snacks during the day?--just this and that.  

4. What are the traditional favorites?--turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing  

5. What new recipes will you try this year?--not too sure. i am sure some veggie dish or maybe an added hen to the mix

6. What part of the meal do you never compromise?--turkey(the wing), stuffing, a veggie, and dessert.  

7. Who gets to carve the turkey?--daddio!

8. Family style around the table or buffet style and everyone sits wherever there’s room?--around the table. the food is set out buffet style

9. How many will be at your table this year?--4 to 6 (hopefully in the future with my own family there will be more)

10. Once you're at the table, do you say grace or a toast or does everyone go around and say what they're thankful for?--we say grace

11. Cranberry sauce… yay or nay?--yay!

12. What time do you eat Thanksgiving Dinner?--5pm or 6pm

Words that make me wonder how you feel

hello all! hope you have a great Tuesday! i have a little bit of an issue and i know you all can provide some thoughts to it. so what do you think of the word "DITTO"? it was cute in the movie Ghost, but as a way to respond to something sweet that was said...i do not like it. i want a genuine response back not "DITTO". personally i hate that word, it seems like you really do not mean it. what does "DITTO" mean anyway? so here is why i am upset about the word...i was texting with my love and i was all about being sweet to him as always. well, i said to him: "thank you for sticking by and with me, i appreciate that a lot" and his reply was..."DITTO" ugh, i was SOO mad! then i said "i love you, chat with you soon after the game" again i got...you guessed it... "DITTO". ugh. see why that word and i are not friends!! i feel like i derserved more than "ditto" in response.

i could also be taking things very personally right now as i have had a lot going on and a lot of stress as well as we have been back and forth with arguments and knit picking back and forth for a while, so i guess I AM just on the edge with the whole thing and wondering where it is all going from here. i want it to work, but not too sure what to do other than keep to myself and quiet until he comes around b/c i have no energy to fight anymore....that is my goal!

i hope you all have a happy monday. mine is ok, but i have seen better on monday's. i have an issue that i am dealing with and well, my weekly wishes will explain it all...i hope.

my wishes for the week:

1. i wish to get my work files done...at least the last 5 for october

2. i wish to find out what is wrong with me health wise

3. i wish for my eyes to keep improving

4. my BIGGEST wish for the week is this: i wish my love and i would stop fighting over petty things like what is being posted on facebook, who can see what, if a relationship status should be up there or not, deleting post etc. it is a mess. i just want the mess gone and us back to normal. i hope/wish it can happen for us this week. any advice? back off for a while and let him come back to me or what?

happy Wednesday! it is trash day for us in my part of Florida! (random i know) it is also Would You Rather Wednesday with my friend here at: Innerworkings of the Female Mind

 

1. Would you rather be able to stop time or fly?---i want to fly. save on time and gas! now you all know the song "i believe i can fly" came to mind and you are singing it right now.

3. i wish this week for my eyes to keep getting better (i had eye surgery on both eyes and healing has been slow and sight coming back has been slow too)

4. i wish to find a good deal at the store

5. i wish to take a walk this week. the weather has been so nice i need to take advantage of it.

Thank you Vets!!

Happy Veteran's Day! Thank you for your service to our country. It is because of you mens and women that we are FREE! This also includes my mother who is not only a Veteran, but has also given 24 years of service (she is now retired) to the United States Navy as an officer and eye doctor who has given our troops  and vets the "sight to fight" for our freedom. Thank you!!! What does this day mean to you?

in other news: i am doing laundry, going through my blog list, and trying to get over this runny tummy...ick!  come on tums--please work!!

1. It is Veteran's Day in the US and Remembrance Day in Canada - are you participating in any special events or doing anything to honor those who served?s.--no special events, but i have and did thank my mother as she is now a Veteran as the post above states 

2. How far are you willing to drive before it becomes better to fly?--600 miles

3. Fresh cranberries are back in stores - Wayne is happy because I'm making crisps again, do you cook/bake with fresh cranberries? Recipes?--not really, the only time cranberry come out is for thanksgiving cranberry sauce and maybe cranberry juice. 

4. We turned on our heat for the first time this week here in SC... how long has the heat been on at your house? What temperature do you set your furnace at?--i live in Florida. the heat is not on yet. in fact it is nice comfortable 72 degrees. it is cold in the morning, warms up in the afternoon, and then cold again at night. ahhh, Florida!

Sunday Social & Possible Move?

happy Sunday! you know that means Sunday Social! All about Thanksgiving :) who does not love to eat right?

1. favorite thanksgiving memory--all the family around and me actually cooking the turkey right where is was moist and not dry :)

6 Word Saturday-panties and juice!

"victoria's secret underwear and orange juice!"

whoa! ok that is a crazy set of 6 words! well, i did organize my underwear drawer and i still have a lot, but the ones that still had tags on them...ie have never worn them, i put away in a bag. i must have over 40 pairs of panties from Victoria's Secret. you know that little coupon book that you get and the freebie coupons in the mail, well, over the many many years of being a faithful shopper, i sure have earned my fair share of FREE panties and well, finally had to sort them all out. it is done...phew. so looks like panties will not be on my Christmas list this year!! LOL. and i just had my first taste of orange juice in a long long time. it was good. i could totally drink that whole gallon in the fridge right now. but i happy with my current weight loss so that will be my motivation to stay away from downing it all :)

Friday 4 and Weight Loss!

yea! it is Friday and it should be a good one at that! i get to eat some yummy mexican for lunch: chimichanga with rice and beans and chips and salsa. that is my fav, and i could basically just eat the chips and salsa alone and be just fine! i have also lost some weight i am now in the 140's!! wahoo! i was in the 150's before. today i went from 158 lb to 145 lb, a 13 pound weight loss. i feel as if i have lost my butt, but maybe now since my clothes are big on me, that is why i cannot find my butt?? hmmm?? well, i have not been doing much to lose weight other than not eating that much, but with my span of eye surgeries and the anastassia and drops and meds, i have not really had much of an appetite to say the least. i do hope i can continue to keep it off! ok...

Words that Scare me and Anniversary

happy Thursday! there was an accident right in front of the entrance of my sub-division last night and it got me thinking of words that scare me. it was a multi-car accident and i do hope that all will be well even though their cars were a mess. here are some words that just somehow bring in some fear to me when i hear them:

hospital, accident, snakes, miscarriage, roach, surgery, fat, break-up, death, cancer, disease, hurricane, unemployment, suicide, hate, liar, fire, un-happy, lost, etc. i am sure there are more, but these are the few that came to my mind right now. what are some words that you would not want to hear/scare you?

now for some happy news...to day my love and i have been together for 4 years!!! Happy Anniversary to us! now, i will say, i did not think we would make it to this day b/c the past 3 months with my eye surgeries, past being brought up on both our sides, and lots of arguing over petty things that brought out other feelings, searching for better jobs, being 5 hrs away, etc. but we did it and the day is here! although it has been really rough, i think it has made us stronger and in some strange way more in love with each other and better communicators. now...let's see if HE will remember and wish us a Happy Anniversary!!

1.  "be happy for 8hrs/day and poor or sad for 8hrs/day and rich?": hmmm, i think at this point i would rather be sad for 8 hrs a day and rich. money cannot by happiness, but it can sure take off some stress. also there are 24 hours in day and if 8 of them are sad ones, but i can get stuff done and function...i could handle it. and also, you can ALWAYS find something to be happy about. 

2. "live without music or live without tv?": i can live without music and be ok. i got to have my tv an shows and hey, for the music there are always the music awards on tv, so i may not be at a total loss.

3. "have a kangaroo or koala as your pet?": a koala

4. "be invisible or able to read minds?": read minds. that way i can maybe understand men a little better and be able to figure out people's wants and needs better.

5. "have superhuman memory or teleportation?": teleportation for sure! i would be able to travel the world in the blink of an eye and also it would be MUCH easier to see my love anytime and not have him commute 5 hours each way.

let's talk medical stuff...

happy monday to all! i am slowly but surely getting back in the swing of blogging...trying to at least. so i am linking up with Your Doctor's Wife-Medical Monday because i sure have had a lot of medical scares the past 3 months. here we go!

so i think i can link up this week for medical monday. i am and have been thinking about medical school for a while and i still am. i struggled with the sciences in college, but still enjoyed them and graduated with an overall gpa above 3.4. then i went on to do my masters in public health and had a 4.0 gpa. so there is some hope right? that is what i do not know. should i try and get in to a USA school or go for the Caribbean route? rumor has it that Caribbean trained doctors are not as well received by their USA colleges? is this the case? what are some other options in the medical field other than nursing or pa that one can go into and still come out a "doctor"? sometimes i think my chances are slim to none, but there is always a way around something right? what do you all suggest? 

now here is some insight to my medical issue. both of my retina's detached at my young age of 29 (i am still 29). it just happened spontaneously after i recovered from being sick/systemic infection. i guess even though i was taking antibiotics for it, it must have still decided to play with my retina. i have had blurry vision since september. i have had the retina repair surgery with a vitrectomy. i hope to be fully recovered and back to "normal" vision before the new year...perhaps by Christmas time?

and for another link up going on about the kitchen and food...yummo...check out this link up over at Never the Same Spice Twice blog. i sure would love to make this. i am a fan of one pot meals. i bet this paired up with some bread/rolls would be SOOOO good!one pot creamy chicken and noodles. mmm...i can almost smell it now!
